Default G5x1, G1, F13

OK, after doing a little more research and talking to a couple members, I think I've narrowed my decision down to one of these three.

The specs on the cams are all similar so I figured, road manners would be about the same, and with a tune, they would be around the same ballpark powerwise. I know I'll get corrected if that isnt true.

G5X1 - 228/232 .588/.575 112
MTI G1 - 228/232 .588/.575 113
F13 - 230/232 .595/.585 112

I know they arent identical but not too many drastic differences. So, i guess what I'm asking is this. Is a cam a cam a cam? Right now, I'm leaning towards the G1 for the simple fact that MTI is about an hour from my house, I wont have to hassle with the shipping process. If something isnt correct on the order or with the cam, I can go to the shop and deal with them face to face.

Is this something I should really let influence my decision? Is one of the cams that much better than the G1? Would I kick myself later for getting the 113 LSA instead of the 112? I want that lope to be heard.

Any of those cams will make solid power. All of those would be even better on a 110 or 111LSA with only 1-2 degrees of advance.

Thats what I figured, I just didnt want to go with MTI because of the proximity and then regret it.

I did see on their website they will custom order a cam with your specs for no extra charge, so I could get the 228/232 with a 111 or 112 LSA.

I have a G1, definately lopes. People knew I had the car cammed when I got it. When, I got my TSP true duals with ST's, it turned heads, got lots of compliments. I now would definatley go maybe with a 111 or 112, just because it could sound that much more sick. Could have met you somewhere to let you hear it, but I blew a hole in my block and Im currently awaiting my LME 408.

I appreciate the feedback. I'm was gonna call and talk to somebody at MTI tomorrow about ordering it. Its either gonna be 111 or 112 lsa.

When you get that 408, we can still meet up, I wouldn't mind checking that out.

One other cam to consider is the Crane Z cam. It's 228/232@ 112, plus 0 deg advance. And lift is .600/.600.
