Default Bolt on M6 new best!

I went to Beech Bend tonite to try out the new 4.10s. The best time of the nite was as follows:

60ft......1.833
1/8th....7.947@88.41
1/4.......12.34@112.79

I was SO stoked after this run that I decided to let the car cool and go talk to my GF and 14 yr old cousin that was videoing for me. I walk up ALL excited and they tell me that they didn't get the run on vid, forgot to press the REC button NOOO! I swear I thought it was a joke, nope, he didn't get it

Determined to get a good run on vid I go back out for another pass and back the first 12.3 pass up with this:

60ft......1.844
1/8th....8.004@88.41
1/4.......12.395@113.07

THIS one he got on vid

All this while I was fighting the car acting up. Last thur it started shaking and then this past sat the ses light started flashing and the car would hesitate, spit, and sputter, then clear up. It went away and then after 250 miles came back, then went away on sun and I raced my buddy (see Kill Section) and it was fine.

Then today it started acting up at the track and just kept getting worse. The last several passes the engine light was on and it idled at 600 and ran real sparadic. It only got worse from there. The way home it popped and backfired like crazy as it drank almost 1/2 tank of fuel in about 60-65 miles

I limped it in on E, shaking, and the smell of raw fuel exiting the exhaust pipes. Now I have to find out what the problem is, and after resolving that replacing the plugs as well cause I am sure they're fouled after it running that rich.

So as happy as I was to get the new best I was in a shitty mood the whole ride home cause of how awful the car is running.

A VID will be posted up soon of the last pass.

Wow, that's great man... Nice numbers, get that crap fixed, don't run it that damn rich, you'll wash down the cylinders. Those are some impressive numbers considering the mods you've got man! I ran 12.340 @ 111.76 (hit over 112 that day) on a 1.718 60', also a M6 car (when I was NA). Great work, you've got more in it, get that thing tuned!

Thanks guys! The vid is "optimizing" on LS1tech videos, that process takes FOREVER. It's been doing that since last night

Car is tuned man, I'm just having some issues with random misfire, O2's, etc. Going to get the car scanned here shortly and start disecting the problem from there.

Congrats, makes me wonder how my friend's car would run if he had the "driver mod." His best trap is 115.29 MPH with only bolt ons. It's a 2000 SS M6, full bolt ons, no tune, BMR susp., HALs, and nittos. Best ET is like 12.78, pretty dismal for the MPH.

Again, congrats, hope you get your car sorted out soon.

What are you shooting for?

Don't take this the wrong way.

I ran a 12.86@106 on a 1.784 60' in 7800ft DA. Get those 60's down

It's called not blowing up your 10 bolt, and being towed off the track. This is a M6 with 4.10 gears, with a stock 10 bolt.

EXACTLY

I don't dump the clutch, and it's not like the Nittos could take the shock anyway, but the 60s will never be as low as the car's capable of til the 12 bolt's in and the REAL tires are on

Yep it was an O2 sensor problem. I just installed two new ones yesterday after the post cat O2s leftover from the stock exhaust weren't up to the task. All is well and I am heading back to the track tonite.

Good luck. Post up when you get back. Just to compare. I ran a 12.18 @ 113 through stock manifolds and Y SI as an M6. 1.69 60'. It 60ied 1.65 that night. Too bad not on the same run. Oh this was on 10 bolt with MT DRs. Great tires. Pulled a tire too. Nittos are nice but once they get low on tread they are hard to hook and you have to burn the **** out of them.

Weather wasn't up to par. I got a new best 60ft 1.82, but only managed a 12.4
