Why is LS1 fully-dressed weight 497# for man vs. 457 for auto?

Default Why is LS1 fully-dressed weight 497# for man vs. 457 for auto?

I know the steel flywheel (anchor) is 24 lb (I don't know what the flexplate weights), but that does not account for all of the difference. Does anyone know where this is comming from?

I'm not sure what the 4le60 weighs, but the t-56 weighs in at 125lbs. I wasn't sure if you were talking about trans weights included in your calculation.

4L60e also weighs 125 (dry)
