Default Jesel timing belt kit VS slp double roller timing chain or one similiar?

I was just curious about the jesel timing belt system, and wether it would be worth using? im building a twin turbo ls2 power 99 camaro and was going to just run the slp double roller timing chain but then i cam across the jesel belt system and read about some of its advantages. i was just wondering if anyone is running it or has herd aything on it? Any comments on this product would be appreciated thanx?

I'm assuming you mean Jesel belt drive like this:

In general, the timing chain setup has been on LS1/2/6 combos that have been in the low 8's. So, for the most part it's not needed unless you are planning something more extreme than that. It does cut down on the harmonics and allows external timing adjustments. It does require machining to work, an external oil pump, etc. In total it may cost 1200 for the timing assembly, but it'll run you over 2k to get it in the motor. That's assuming you use a cheap external pump and you get a good deal on the machining.

Yes it is. In my case I'm running the belt drive because it made running the 5 stage in reverse rotation nicer. It still could have been done with a timing chain. But this worked out very well.

No new pics. I've been too busy with weddings, birthdays and travel for work. I might snap a photo or two this weekend.

Is this for a LS1
What machining would have to be done? the block or custom made plate like in the pic above?
thanks
eddie

The block needs to be machined to accept the Jesel front cover, which is shown in the first picture behind the Jesel pulleys and belt. The front oil passages for the stock pump are blocked off and once the block is machined you can not run anything but a belt drive timing setup on that block again.

You have to get a Gen III/IV small block belt drive for a LS1,2,6,7 block not a belt drive for a standard small block like the one you found on ebay.
