Default Castrol Blue Hydraulic Fluid

Has anyone heard or have experience in running this fluid in a trans?
The builder said in the environment that this trans will see he suggested this fluid. I have not heard of running this stuff so I thought I would ask.

he gave me a part number but dont know if it is Castrol's number or vendors number 40247.

So no go on street us?!

You mention O'R's is where you get yours, 5 gallons at a time or what!? I have not looked for it but I think the guy said it was like $50 for 5 gallons at the place he told us to get it from. My concern is that if I dont carry this stuff with me on the trailer/truck then I am SOL if something happens, b/c I can get DextronIII anywhere. Not that I could not carry this stuff with me but it is just one more thing to remember.

Can someone tell me the benefits of this over DIII?

Keeps the tranny cooler at the track. It also seems to make them live longer and shift quicker.

I buy it in 5 gallon jugs. I keep it in my trailer.

Dang Brother you need to get out to the track more. We end up changing the tranny fluid about every 2 weeks.

Coach
I am finding it more rewarding working on other's cars getting them to the level of enjoyment they are looking for rather than racing my own stuff.

I am slowly gathering parts to put together a new motor/set up but in the mean time, helping other locals is fun!!
