Default Warning (jail Time!!)

This was in College Station, Texas about 5 minutes ago!

So I was exiting off of Welbourn onto University towards Northgate. In order for me to get into my turning lane I must cross 2 lanes. The car that I was following stopped short inorder to turn into a parking lot while still in the exit lane. I was in first gear and there was traffic coming so I had to hurry and get in front of them. After accelerating not past 3K RPM I shifted into second which chirped my tires a little bit.

After I turn I get pulled over by a motorcycle cop who tells me it's my lucky day because he is working overtime and doesn't want to take me to jail. I said why would you take me to jail?!?!?

Apparently since the F&F came out, the state has passed a law that anyone who looses traction while driving will be taken to jail!

WTF???? A damn auto economy 4 mother f*cking banger civic can chirp the tires!

Whatever, the cop was nice and did give me a break I suppose. When he brought up the F&F I said don't even get me started... I hate that movie!

What is yalls input???

that is pretty silly that they passed a law based on crap like this. I never heard the "Cannonball Run" influencing laws. **** if they are going to pass a law like that then by the same logic they might as well be profiling ricers like in the movie...

I doubt they could take you to jail unless it was perceived as reckless driving. My guess would be they would give you a ticket for exhibition of acceleration and the cop was just trying to scare you.

If they are gonna make laws from movies then homosexuality should be illegal because of "Brokeback Mountain".

What would they write you a ticket for? I mean chirping tires is not illegal per se, is it?
MAybe it would be some garbage like "Failure to control" or excessive show of force".
These days, driving a sports car is pretty much pointless. You don't even have to speed or drive recklessly in order to get a ticket.
Did you guys know that you can get a ticket here in Ohio for merely revving your engine @ a light??

He was full of **** by the way. There is no law that was passed that says if you chirp your tires, you go to jail. If that is so, then auto manufacturers that do not supply vehicles with traction control must pick up the tab for the ticket, court fees, etc. Hell, even WITH traction control in my SS I can chirp the **** out of the tires through 5th.

I actually heard that the law was repealed for spinning your tires becoming an "exhibition of acceleration" ticket because of some old lady in a V8 Northstar Caddy lighting up her fronts on a wet road coming out of a green light.

Take me to jail.

The law he is talking about is racing. Cops can just haul you off to jail now for racing. it would be a long stretch for him to prove it, especially with you trying to get across 2 lanes of traffic.

The other thing is the cops are just bored especially with no students being in town.

The law is going to find a reason to pull anyone over that could lead to,alcohol in the car, drugs, warrants, the occasional dead body. You know the normal stuff the law frowns on. I think CSPD was just busting *****.
