I'm am feeling your pain, trust me. I'm alittle disappointed in my converter as well. Although I'm not sure if its the converter or trans yet. I have a feeling that mine will come out and a yank will go in.

??

i don't think it is the converter. that time is right for your 60'. you need better tires.

i went 8.18 @ 80 with only a 4k fuddle, lid, and 373s - stock tune on everything. i bounced RL like 5-6 times on each shift, which is what caused the low trap. i would look elsewhere for your problems. with a hard hook i would expect that converter to average low 1.7s with full weight and bolt-ons.

the first time out this year with my converter i went 12.85. changing NOTHING but my driving i have knocked of .52 (12.33) just from practice and TIRES.

most verters will lose a little mph but give you a better et.i was trapping 111mph before my 3600 fuddle, after i was at 108 or 109.but i went from 12.89 to 12.40 so i thought it was worth it.now i'm running a vig 4400 and mph stayed around the same but et dropped to 12.20.these are on high 1.6's and low 1.7's

i have a yank converter ss3600 and love it. With 315 bfg drag radials and just bolt ons i cut multiple 1.69x 60's and always 1.7x's. The car didnt lose any mph, actually gained one or two. Couldn't be happier with it

thats what im talkin about.. my cousin has a 99 z28 vert, with LTs, true duals and a tune along with a ss3400 and mt drg radials..everything else is stock down to the filter and he was running 8.0@86 w\ a 1.69 60ft..and i was expecting something in that range considering we have the same power and he has a 200rpm bigger stall and his car is heavyier..but o well there is always next time...

I wasn't pleased with my Yank at first, but then again I was on bald F1's...doh!! I just recently went to the track on a fairly hot and muggy day with some nittos on 16" rims and ran my current sig times and i'm pretty happy with them because with a tune and a decent day I think I might go 12.4!!! We'll see......

Practice and tires. Is that car lowered? Does it have relocation brackets? Spinning hard for the first 5ft of a run is a big problem with a bad ET. Remove front sway bar?

What gears do you have? What's the STR of the converter? How are you launching the car?

That 60' needs work and it sounds like either 1 of these 2 things: 1 you are flooring it from idle or 2 you stall it up then floor it immediately. Those won't help you with your time so try footbraking it at 3000 first then release the brake, once the car hooks, floor it. Once you get better, footbrake it higher. If you spin, you did it wrong. Even a little spin can add as much as 4 tenths, so no spinning!! The bfgs are supposed to be stickier than the nitto drag radials, so get into the 1.7s-1.6s with them.
