Stock length PR's will work..very small cam..better than stock but if your going to do a cam swap why not do one that will gain more HP and TQ..your not going to see a large gain.. the cam swap will gain you more HP and TQ than any other mod and is the biggest gain per dollar spent and time involved of all mods..you'll be kicking yourself in the *** for doing a baby cam like this when all is said and done..

That's not much of a cam.

What are you looking for?

I suggest finishing your exhaust first. Do you have a lid? LS6 intake?

Why not go with the old standby TR224?

Well I can't realy do any more exhaust because of the lowering springs that I have. And I would like to keep the car sounding at a near stock idle. any other cams from Comp that I could use?

I ran that cam for a while. Wish i still had it to be honest. With west coast cylinder heads the 5.3's I layed down 398 horsepower on a dynapack dyno with the stock exhaust manifolds and a crappy flowmaster. That was before we went to headers and true duals. We dropped 3 tenths after headers and true duals so we picked up alot more horsepower I would say we were over 410 thru an auto car with a baby cam. I also ran the factory pushrods with it for well over 10,000 miles with that cam and heads.

Default Good Numbers

Hi: That amazing that you got allmost 400 HP with a that cam in an automatic car with stock exhaust manifolds. Were you running the stock cats too? What other mods were done to the car? Post up the Graph if you still have it.
Thanks

That is a puny cam, heck I just installed it in my 1500HD to help with towing. After I tuned it, you wouldn't be able to notice the cam. It pulls good and revs upto 6000 rpms and that is it. As others mentioned, what are your goals with your car?

It ran 11.80 at a "sub-par" track in Palmdale (2710 Elev., 4000+ DA typically). That is the cam I have now in my truck.

You can try mine. Completely stealth sounding at the stock 800 rpm idle (M6). The big lobes really increase the power but do require good springs. A little extra exhaust duration helps with the stock manifolds.

I have a comp 216/220 .525/.532 114. Really love the cam. Cam and lid only I made 354 rwhp. Headers and LS6 intake it made 382 hp. I love the cam, but motor is getting rebuilt and I'm gonna step up to a bigger cam. Idles at 800 rpm. Very little lope. BTW, this cam is gonna need a home.

Yes but if you run a larger cam you can add another 30 HP to those numbers using stock heads..I know because I did..
