I'm interested in hearing what brand/size/compound tires y'all have come up with to aid in reducing the "caddy hop".

I experimented with tire pressures and made some progress in the 26-27# range but the sidewall on the run-flats is hindering any further progress.

Don't go to Jerry Johnson's in Lumberton with any rear end issues. They dumb up real fast. Funny thing though, one call to Quantrell Cadillac (selling dealer) in Lexington, Ky. and without them even seeing the car the parts are ordered and on hand. The only question was "when can you bring it in?".

Somewhere I've seen a pinion snubber advertised. Seems like it had a neoprene bushing (noisy?) and bolted to the floorboard. Anyone had any experience with one of these?

I did the GM bushings and it helped a little. I changed my tires and added a rear cradle kit at the same time. That made a huge difference in the traction and wheel hop. I went with Goodyear GSD3's 275's in the back (245's in the front). I went with a Kars stage II cradle kit that incorporates the pinion brace. It ties everything together and prevents unwanted pinion deflection. Much better than just a pinion brace alone with a little added noise, not much though. Best solution imho.

I would definatley get the kars kit in one way shape or form. It does alot more then just subdue wheel hop.

Chiro V,

How is the driveability with the LPE flywheel. From what I've read, it's a bit lighter than Myron's (TPIS) and the others.

Thanks for the tire info.

The driveability with the LPE flywheel overall is very good. The engine spins up so much faster now, the car acts like it's 500 lbs. lighter. The only downside is some tranny noise below 1800 rpm's in some gears. I just keep it above 2k and it's great. Off the line it takes a few more rpm's to get going also. You get used to it though. The downsides are relatively minor compared to how much more livelier the engine feels now. It's a nice upgrade but I like Myron's stuff also. You may get a little better driveability with his flywheel.

getting rid of the runflats was the best thing I ever did
