i`m doing a head and cam swap, i`m installing a slp oil pump with roll master doubleroller chain. the chain came with oil pump shims just wondering if i have to use them with the slp oil pump seems like i will have to do a lot of grinding to get the timing cover to fit?

You will have to use them but you don't need to do any grinding either. I had the same chain and pump and there were no clearance issues.
