AAA = worthless
My buddy was at the Cinemark off Edloe, probably one of the nicer movie theaters in Houston. Well some one breaks in my buddies Silverado, steals his radio, tries to steal the truck and messes up the colum. So he calls the cops and all that, calls AAA a little before 12AM for a tow home since it now wont start, key wont turn forward, wont let you take it out of park or any thing, I roll up there to give his girl friend a ride home, well long story short, they dont show till 3:45am. WTF, they gave him some lame *** excuse that they need some thing and only one tow truck in Houston has it, bull ****.

I have the road side assistance on my cingular wireless plan ( 4 bucks a month). When my waterpump went out they had me to a repair shop within 2 hours.
I also work with en ex tow truck driver and yes they do f-you. Hes told me stories of them waiting accross the street waiting for people to park in certain spots and when they where out of sight so were their cars.

I was driving from Austin-Houston one night at like 1am and my tire blew out on the hwy in the middle of nowhere. I have the basic AAA and they arranged for a flatbed to come and only took about 30 mins. to find/get to me I was pretty happy, it saved me a lot of trouble.

I have had good a nad bad experiences with AAA, but you can't beat it for the money. I usually tell them I am blocking a lane of traffic and they send someone ASAP. If they question me when they arrive I just tell them someone helped me push it out of the way. Works every time

AAA has helped me many a time. unfortunatley, the tow truck companies are on a rotation... so you arent necessarily going to get a truck that is down the street from you. i find that a 2hr wait is pretty common. your wait was kinda excessive though.

I had a 3 hr 30 min wait in humble @ McDonalds about a month ago and missed my plane.... Things like this are contracted out to tow truck companies that participate in AAA
I dont have AAA ....Im with USAA....but it's all contract work to towing companies.
