Default Starting Cam research, gimme a suggestion

I got an 02 t/a m6.
Full bolt ons: Ls6 intake, lid, bellows, slp maf, ported tb, ls6 intake, pacesetter lts, ory, bullet, got 3.42s. I am purposely keeping stock pullies and waterpump,.

The next step would probably be a power adder. I am thinking a cam and nitrous combo but possibly just one of those.

My goal is to get into the 11s with a highly streetable car. The car is only driven in the summer and nice days. Hardly any rain or anything. I want to have power throughout the curve. I do want a cam with a mean lope. Heads don't seem worth it to me cost vs performance so i will not be getting any.

I saw some impressive dynos on the TREX but idk if that is right for me.

Goals: My goal right now is to break into the 11s, 11.9 counts. Any cams that will allow me to do that? The car must be able to get decent gas mileage and have good power down low for daily driving. This will be on drag radials i am guessing. It will def be possible with cam and nitrous, is it possible in my situation cam only?

Overall goal: Compete with a stock c6 z06 in straight line acceleration (should be possible with the right cam and a moderate shot of nitrous id say)

Any specific cams i should research more on that fit my situation?

I know i will need some valvetrain parts as well as tuning.

honestly bro. I'm in the same situation as you are. I think you should look into a MAGIC stick cam. It'll be worth it.

You are mixing 2 things together. You have your good track time cars. Then you have your Dyno Queens. You will find one or the other with that cam.

You both have your shares of research about cams cut out for you. Look in the cam guide sticky. There is some really tastey info in there. To be honest that is where I first learned about many of the cams that I have owned/installed.

Read the stickies. As Orangepeel as said, with the TRex, you have one or the other. You also stated that you want down low power for daily driving. You will not have that with the TRex. You would be happier with F13/F14, Torquer2, or call ThunderRacing and talk to them and have a Custom ground cam made for you that would work with the mods you have.

Good call man. A custom grind seems to suit most people looking for a cam that likes the TRex to begin with.

you will be needing some suspension pieces and a new rear also.the m6s are hare on rears and with 11 sec power the stocker won't last long. even with a small cam like a 224 or 228 on an xer lobe you can easily get over 500 rwhp on a 150 shot with a very safe tune and pulled timing and 375-400 rwhp on motor.when cam only with the 228r on a 150 and 22 * timing i had 513 rw through the exhaust.as allready stated it's hard to have a car that performs well on the street and strip.

To break into the 11's N/A your going to need a new rear end that can take the short times and abuse of drag radials or slicks. Simply adding a cam on stock 3.42 gearing with the stock rear is not going to cut it. A cam and N20 shot should get you in the 11's even with high 60 fts off the line.

Your car currently has the potential for 11's it just needs a beefier rear w 4.10s, DR's and some suspension work.
