before. it will run really rich when you let off the throttle otherwise.

Yep, you want whatever amount of air goes thru the MAF to go into the engine, otherwise it will throw things off.

so this means it goes before the maf..... meaing that it doesnt go inbetween the TB and the maf

correct, otherwise you have a 'vacuum leak' which is not good. As stated alreay everything that passes the maf needs to go into the engine, otherwise the readings that maf gave are incorrect and will cause all kinds of stuff to happen, none of it being good.
