Default Polished or Chrome

What is the difference between high polished and chrome wheels? Im looking to buy some zr1's from O E Wheels and I saw that they are like a $130 difference. The finishe looks very similar, does anyone have pics of their Camaros with either the chrome or the high polished so I can get an idea?

Polished is what it sounds like... Bare metal that is polished. Which has the advantage of not chipping or peeling like chrome can. However, polished is harder to maintain.

Chrome is easier to take care of.

Chrome will not chip or peel when taken care of properly. All you have to do is wash and wax them occasionally. The finish on chrome is much deeper/shinier than polished.

Here is a polished wheel freshly polished after being stripped of the clear coat next to the chrome ones on my car.

Polished wheels require at least monthly polishing to keep the shine decent, but they look pretty good when kept up. They will not ever look quite as shiny as chrome plated wheels though.

Chrome is a little heavier than polished...and polished wheels scratch a little easier. Chrome always looks nicer...but like any wheel you have to stay on top of cleaning it.

I would trade my polished wheels for chrome any day. If they are cleared, the clear gets hazy. If you strip the clear or do not have clear in the first place, have fun polishing them quite frequently if you want them looking their best.

And, chrome looks better MOST of the time.
