How often are you suppose to change the rear end fluid? Is this something you can do on your own without any prior experience? I'm not too familiar with this part of the car.

I believe they recomend doing it every 60 K, and its not that hard to do, just unbolt it and let the fluid drain, not a bad idea to slip a new gasket in their if you want, then bolt it back up and add the new oil. but if its a limited slip rear your goin to need to get the GM additive to add to the oil as well

Alright, well how do I know what fluid to use or what type? Its an a4 with 2.73's 2001 year.

Stock it takes 75w90 synthetic. The recommend interval is 45k to 60k.

If you are upgraded to an aftermarket rearend I would recommend a change interval of 15k.
