Default Single turbo won't hook on street tires; advice please on my set up.

Goal is 11.6 and 125 mph. Let me know if this is too optimistic, for a 90% street compromise car.

Best I can manage @ Grand Bend on Stock F1s (275 40 r17) is:

60' ...... 2.190
330 ..... 5.708
1/8.......8.446 @ 89.92
990.......10.794
1/4.......12.741 @ 115.81

Now on July 7th I tried on F1GSD3s (315 rear and 275 front) and I only dropped my 60' by .05, my 1/4 time by .1 and actually dropped my trap speed by 3 mph!!!

Best times are with Traction Control ON

I can't go to a skinny front due to my porsche brakes, so I think I'm limited to drag radials. I'm told not to mix radial fronts with slick rears for safety.

(Should I waste my time practicing on street tires, or wait and get some 15 x 10s and some drag radials? If Drag radials which ones 275, 325

Thank you.

how are you going to get 125 mph if you are going only 115 now, are you going to turn the boost up or drop some majow weight, still kinda confused, but 11.6 is not even a problem with some slicks or drag radials with the power you are making

are you a M6 or auto, with a manual it will be harder
on my old tti kit i did a best of 11.82@125 with a 1.99 60' using nittios
your going to wither have to improve your 60' alot or turn up the boost.

same nittos and two years later with my new setup best ive gotten is a 12.4@128 with a 2.14 60', guess i need to relearn how to drive a stick.

Default Smokin hawk some questions for you.

I'm M6. Thanks for the info.

Questions:

How much boost were you running to get those numbers? 128 Trap WOW!
What size of Nittos and rear are you running?
Do you use a two step?

Thank you

Is it just me, or does that trap seem really low for those power numbers?

Default Advice please: Turbo SS 12.7s even now with DR? M6

Well I went to Grand Bend, and swapped over my Goodtear gs1d3 for MT 325/15s at the strip.

Tires seem to hook much better but in the end the best I could do is

60' 2.041 (same as with the Goodyears F1GSD3)
330' 5.506
1/8 80341 @ 86.57
990 10.759
1/4 12.770 @ 110.13 (my god I've lost over 5 mph from stock tires!)

Track conditions track temp F139 deg F??(thats what the slip says!)
Humidity 100%
Barometer 32.09

Now this is worse than stock 275 F1 tires!

Tried 25psi, 20psi, 17psi, 15psi, 17 worked best.

Tried traction control on, off, ON worked best ???

Tried hard launch, soft 3500 launch, power shifting, granny shifting, no joy.

Now I am hoping that since the track was freshly paved, (they were fussing with it constantly respraying it, and people were complaining, but they always do), that track and atmospheric conditions were adverse to good runs.

-and-

My clutch was getting hot and slipping a bit, so I'll change that out. (On the way home (on goodtears) I had to feather it snd while passing cars so It sliped). It really only slipped past the 60' when shifting, and got progressively worse as heated up

So any advice both driving, and mechanical (what clutch would you swap out?) would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Change out your clutch and try it again. You are loosing a lot just with that.

With the 325's you should be able to launch at 4500-5000. Plain and simple, your 60's suck. You should easily be in the 1.8 area on 325's.

Stop worrying so much about mph in the 1/4. With traction your mph may go down.

Get a new clutch, practice, practice practice. --- or just switch to a T-400

I am with David here. My wifes car knocks out 1.7-1.8 60ft on F1GSD3s all day long.

All your MPH is gone with the clutch. Get a good one and try again.
