I'm looking for the same thing, buddy... 346, myself.

Sorry if my reply tantalized your emotions with hints of input... I'll pull up a seat in this thread for a bit.

Okay, but being that we are talking about businesses instead of, say, an SES code interpretation, don't you think information of this sort changes? What was a good deal 4 months ago might not be now or vice versa... I'm quite glad that he both didn't use the search feature and that he posted this question because he honestly beat me to it.

What do you guys think about used shortblock purchases nowadays... They are a great way to save money but... I dunno...

longrange4u: What do you think about your shortblock for boost? I just recently saw their ad about their sale.

Well... I havent received it yet. I will get it next week sometime. As for what I think so far... well I talked to Brad at FFHP for about 2 hours and explained to him my plan. When I told him "rearmount, 408, 7k RPMs, 76MPS, 18-22lbs of boost, 800-900RWHP... he gave me an unexpected answer.... "Cool, lets do it!"

I will tell you he didnt blink... I had to get some upgraded pistons for the additional boost that I am going to run... cost me a couple extra bucks. But I am still right at 4k or so for the shortblock. He also explained to me how he stands behind his product... he said "If some way in hell you figure out a way to break it... send it back to me while its still assembled (heads and such) so I can varify that you didn’t abuse it by starving it out, or a bad tune... but if it broke cause of the build... I'll fix it." Now I am not saying that’s a warranty... but that is a guy that stands behind his products. That is why FFHP has my money.

I will post up Pics as soon as I get the short block next week!!!

That sounds badass, thanks.

It sounds like you're gonna have a BADASS STS F-body... As far as I'm concerned, I really don't think I've heard of any F-body going nuts like this (rear-mount). Either way, your car will definitely be unique.

I have a HPE short block in my car and I had some problems with it, but they were fuel and tuning issues for the most part - although the bearings looked a little scarred and had lower than normal oil pressure after just a few thousand miles.

We've used a few of Eriks 408's without any problems. I would use him or my current engine builder, Hans Feustal. He does Wolfe's motors, so he knows a little bit about boosted motors.
