I need help choosing the right gear ratio... This is for a buddy of mine... he just had a 396LT1/4 built... the car is a 3450lbs 97 Formula Firebird with a M6... he has chosen to go with a 26" slick... what do you think would be the ideal setup for him tire and gear wise? He currently has a 3.73 in a 12 bolt... I am thinking 4.10's?

Does he plan to spray it? He's going to be really close to running out of gear with 4.10's and a 26" tire as is, probably will be out of gear if it cuts a good 60'. My car ran out of gear at 117 with the limiter at 6400 with 4.11's and a 26" tire.
