Default Street racing = expensive tickets

Well long story short... I had just "fixed" my car, or so I thought, and i was going for a spin a i see a 96-98 cobra iwth at least exhaust. We pull onto a 2 lane road and he goes before I get next to him, so i go and blow by him, prolly put 3 cars on him, and my car was not running right.

Well we fly by a cop, i got tagged at 86 in a 40 cop was nice about it didnt arrest us only gave us speeding tickets. Thats $460 so I thnk i'll be cooling it for a bit...

One good thing though, he wrote we were travelling north, but we were going south and I think if one thing is wrong on a ticket it voids the whole thing. Also, there is a huge tree covering the speed limit sign so maybe i can be like "I didnt know what the speed limit was? Just figured it was 90?..." lol...

Meh I hate mustangs...

You gotta pay to play. Getting off on a technicality(sp?) is pretty tough. It depends on the judges mood really. I wouldn't base your argument on the whole tree/speed limit thing. If you fight it and loose you pay the ticket AND court costs. I say it's not worth it. Just take the school so your insurance doesn't go up.

Damn you got off so easy, last time I got a ticket it was for street racing and I was only going 5mph over the posted limit of 40. Nice $1400 misdemeanor, not to mention it put me over the allowed point count of 4/year because of the DUI I got 11 months prior, thus suspending my license 6 months, gg. At least I beat that Mustang I was racing too

I got nailed for 98 in a 40 street racing about 8 years ago, and It cost me over $1,500 back then. 24 hours of driving school (court ordered) missed 3 days of work, and all the fines and court costs. I try real hard not too steet race, guess thats why i havn't had a good race in 2+ years....

Get a lawyer dude. It's still within the judges discretion to take your DL and/or jail/community service. A lawyer will cost you between $250.00 and $500.00 but in the end will be well worth it.

Good luck. And nice kill? Death? Ticket?

I got a racing ticket, speeding 76 in a 45 and no front plate about three years ago. Cost me 150 dollars.... Charges dismissed...I love my lawyer!

Well I have reciepts from 2 days earlier from me picking my car up that clearly state my car was nto running properly at all, and I will have another receipt from me bringing my car to get fixed tomorrow. So I am gonna say that there was no way I could have gone that fast, and that the mustang flew by me and the cop thought we were racing so he pulled us both over... We'll see

If they catch you racing in CA they usually arrest you, beat you, lock you up, throw away the key, display you in a zoo twice a year, dismantle your car and sell the parts on ebay, go to your house, drink all your beer and shoot your dog.

Won't work unless you have a good lawyer. I see people try to use these things on a daily.

Next time you get pulled over unbutton your shirt a little, and blow a kiss at the officer.

And I'm sure all the soccer moms and dads on the road with young children and families and all the older people on the road, and even all the people with half a brain would agree with you on this one.

Lets eliminate the speed limits and allow people to haul *** everywhere and drive recklessly and endanger not only themselves but anybody else in the general vicinity.

Are you an idiot? No one said anything about that. Stop absurdly exaggerating. You know damn well I was referring to the harsh laws given to "street racing." Imbecile.
