Default Painting plug wires?

Got a set of MSD wires that are a bit too friendly with
the headers and have popped loose from the coil on
occasion. I've been looking for LS2/LS6 wires with the
right angle boot, only finding red ones. So I ordered
them red, for function, but am not liking the idea of
red wires in my black engine bay; don't like engine
bay bling (even a little) and would like to paint the red
wires black so they "go away".

Anyone have a fave high temp paint that will stick to,
but not compromise the integrity of the spark plug
wire insulation? Silicone usually not being too great
for adhesion.

could cover them with black braided sleeving.. with some heat shrink on each end to finish it off and keep if from fraying.

Problem with painting them is that the paint is just going to flake back off. The head will bake it on but if you go to pull the wires or move them the paints coming off. Could purchase some Taylor 10.4mm Plug wires, they come in Black and just sell the MSD set up. Hope this helps.

Yeah the paint will crack as you know.

How about a clean job with electrical tape?

p.s.- No bling!?!

I think you would need some sort of black stain rather then actual paint that adds a layer.

Right now my MSD are sleeved in the black loom
material (slit, not braided, w/ black zip-ties). It's
OK but I was hoping for cleaner. Still, anything's
better than red....

I think the braided sleeving looks much nicer then split loom.

What you may want to do, to keep the red wires from showing through the braided sleeving, is to wrap the plug wire in black electrical tape first.

actually krylon might stick and stay on the wires, that stuff is very durable from what i have seen and it will prolly be your best bet since its a plastic material paint.
