lol, for some reason i think the front end of the older style seems too pointy, and too low, or faced towards the ground.
i almost bought a 97 though

IMO they all rock but if I had to choose I'd pick the '93-'97 style cause they look a little more aggressive and appeal more to me and I love the sound of an LT1. I love LS1 WS6's and SS's too, they look mean as hell. I do like the powerband of the LS1 much more though but I'd have to pick the '93-'97 but Im proably biased. :)

I love it. I like the look of a lower and rounded cowl. Most are tall and squared .
Did you glass the cowl to a metal hood, or is the whole hood fiberglass?

used a stock hood to start my mold. when everything was right. i pulled the stock hood. flushed the area where the vents were in the mold. and then i laid down the glas mat, resin and built it. lots of work.

Would have to say the '98+. The integrated headlights smoothed out the lines up front. Just made a cleaner looking car overall.
I still remember thinking back when the 4th gens first came out, they looked like a Geo Storm on steroids.

Looks great. So what did you form your cowl with, clay? Bondo? Other?
If clay, did you have to wait for it to harden before making the mold?
Sorry for the 1000 questions.

I remember in the late 80's when the Geo Storm was rumored to be teh next camaro. eww.plaster and a lil bit of bondo to modify the hood insert area. the bottom half of the hood ie: support/threaded area came off of a seperated ss hood i had. epoxied both halves together. and did the finish work with gel coat and shot it all black. the hood has still not completely cured after a year. :bang:

Is that the stock paint, and what color is it?
I normally hate bachelor red, but that has a nice dark metallic pitch to it...very nice.

It sure is the stock paint. Other than my front bumper (where some dumb old lady backed into me) and my rear quarterpanel (where some drunk fucking bitch sideswiped me), it is the stock paint. Zaino does wonders!

98+ took awhile to me to warm up to with the front but now I like it better then the 94-97.
The drive train on the 98+ is light years ahead of the LT1 *not to say its a bad motor at all* I like the interior more on the 98+ as well.

Some LT1s and LS1s look stupid. I would probably say that more LS1s look better than LT1s. Camaros that is. I also like the 93-96 interior way better than the newer stuff. It seems more like a race car.
Firebirds look far better in LS1 trim.

98-02 hands down.
- IMO they look better
- LS1 > LT1
- more aftermarket parts
- better fuel economy
- generally easier to work on (i hear LT1's are nightmares)
the only thing better about 93-97 cars is sound. LT1's generally sound better, but LS1's can still sound very good with the right setup.

When it comes to styling, I like aspects of both 4th gen Camaros. I like the cleaner grill and headlights of the LS1 Camaros, but I wish we had the vents on the hood that the LT1's got - something to break up that giant expanse of barren sheet metal.
The interior cloth seats on the LT1's are also far ahead of the LS1. I actually worked with a Chevy marketing guy when I was at Milford - I asked him why all of the Chevy cloth interiors now have some stupid pattern to them. He said it made them more "fun".
I prefer LT1 Firebirds hands down. The LS1 Firebirds fell victim to the late 90's Pontiac styling strategy of "let's tack on as much plastic per square inch as possible".
