I've got a car now Steveo. And the LT1 is plenty for me, plus it'll outrun most LS1s once I'm done with it

It's going to take a lot for a used-up LT1 to even come close to an LS1 much less make the LS1 owner feel bad. You need to rebuild a budget 355/383 longblock in your garage witha nice cc305 cam, with some pocket ported heads to even be in the same category, Freshen the tranny with a 2,800 stall and you now have a chance at passing one that's actually racing you.

My LT1 with 131k miles full bolt-ons is a nice daily driver, but little things add up to me just calling it a beater. I'd never say that it's going to be faster than an LS1... that would be a huge waste of time and money.

Now I may not be as fast as a TT Firehawk, but give me some time and it'll be runnin stout.

It would be cool as hell if you could buy the engine from Jon (infinite) and build up a budget 355 over 6 month's time. It takes 2.5 hours to drop the whole subframe out of the car and then swap on the new drivetrain. Put on a rebuilt 4l60 at the same time, a little tuning magic from infinate (OBDI) and you'll have a 370rwhp ride that you did yourself.
