Im just about sick and tired of my catted TSP Y pipe banging. What can I do to fix it?? It seems to be banging in the center underneath. Not under feet but center. What is it hitting and what can i do to fix it.

Im guessing your going to get at least a few people telling you to search.
There a a bunch of threads about the y-pipe banging.

Heater hose where its banging, take off the y-pipe and flatten it where it hits, new engine mounts, new tranny mount.
just search for y-pipe youl find plenty

I'm betting its hitting your tunnel brace thing. My buddy has a TSP Y and he had to take the tunnel brace off to keep it from banging. That thing is worthless anyway.

Hope that helps!

Yea that brace is right smack in the center. Check it out, please dont buy that mufflex POS, it was worthless for me, and IMO you can fix most banging Y-pipe's without it with a BFH.

BFH? sorry not sure what ur talkin bout? but you think that gettin rid of the tunnel brace will do it? what about an aftermarket TB? Its there for a reason..kinda think you shouldnt just get rid of it unless you guys think thats the best option.

BFH = Big F*cking Hammer

My buddy has the TSP Catted ORY and had to take his tunnel brace off. Those things are so weak I cant possibly see them doing any good anyway.

But if you need more clearance get a BMR Driveshaft Safety Loop. Not only will you get the DSL outta the way for the track but it replaces that brace and has more clearance for aftermarket Y-pipes.

Good Luck

Well it is bolted directly to you're floorboard.... sooooo I would say its possible.

The only way to really know is get underneath it.

My Kooks Y-pipe rubs the tunnel a little, just waiting on time to do the BFH mod to the floor board.
