Default High & Low Voltage Cam Sensor Codes

Ever since I put in the new, Futral cam, I've had these codes thrown. Replaced the sensor and still have problems. When starting, occasionally get backfiring and no start up. Turn the ignition off and retry and it will start up fine on the second or third try. Runs great once it starts. Any suggestions?

Default

That's odd you're getting both of those codes, because each has different conditions to set the code. Are they setting at the same time or separately? Also, are you getting code PO341 Sensor Performance code and do you have access to a datalogger like Autotap or EFILive?

PO342 - CMP circuit low voltage
* The PCM detects the cam signal is stuck low when the signal should be high for more than 5.0 seconds

PO343 - CMP circuit high voltage
* The PCM detects the cam signal is stuck high when the signal should be low for more than 5.0 seconds

A quick couple of checks:
* Turn the ignition ON (engine off), disconnect the cam sensor connector and check the red wire for 12.0v with a digital multi-meterb(DMM). Connect the ground to the battery ground or chassis ground.
*Do the same as above, but connect the ground on the DMM to the ground wire (pink/black) on the cam sensor connector. It should also read 12.0v.
*Do visual check for crimped or open wires on the cam sensor.
