Gears & Axles - 3.42 gears

I almost bought a stall but i feel that if you dont run drag tire it is worthless on the street.I am never going to run drag tire.I have 2.73 and want to change to 3.42.my friend is only going to charge me $100 to install them but he also told me to go with 373.I am leaning toward the 342 because it will be a little easier to launch from a stop but I am looking more into froma roll.Which would be better from roll racing from 50mph and on.I am only doing the gears because my friend is carging me so cheap I think he might do them for $50 bucks now.What is it that I need,I know I need the thick gears($200) gear Installation kit(100) what else.
