Talking My Incon install thread... (Pics)

My front bumper in the apartment for safe keeping. (Special thanks to my new wife.)

The Firehawk is shedding parts...

Working in a one car garage at my apartment complex...

Radiator/condensor & most front clip compenents removed...

Polished valve covers traded for some billit covers still in the mail system, rags for dust protection.

Drivers side nestled in place. Required lowering the K-member, raising engine off mount, removing motor mount pedestal. I had to grind a tab on the block.

Passenger side was by far the hardest to complete. I had to notch the starter, block, k-member, part of the downpipe, inserting the clean air tube while installing the whole manifold was a hellish experience...

Finished the night with the pasenger side intercooler and air tubes installed. I had to relocate the horn. Tomorrow I'll do the driver side.

The remedy.

Sweet setup! You are running a stock engine, correct?

Stock 45k bottom end for now (6-8 psi) with a 236/236 cam, pulley, Shaner S3 throttle body, Weiand manifold. I'm shooting for 550-600 rwhp untill I can do a forged 382ci/6 liter heads set-up a year or so from now.

I only drive it maybe 2-3k miles per year. It dyno'd 421 rwhp N/A a couple months ago.

I feel bad for you small garage guys. Even though my creeper constantly gets stuck in the garage floor cracks I do have enough room to open my doors fully.

On topic again, do you plan to dyno the car when done? 600 rwhp seems like a lot with stock compression. Look forward to seeing what happens.

I am going to shoot for 500 rwhp on my setup since, like you, a forged engine is about a year away.

We'll see what power it makes on the GMMG dyno...

With 421 rwhp currently I think it's reasonable to expect another 120 rwhp from the twins before it goes back under the knife.

I already did the in-tank fuel pump (Walbro 320), and I have some Racetronix 60 pounders when it's time to fire it up with hp tuners.

Hopefully next weekend... I need to find somebody local (Atlanta) that will loan me a laptop so Cablebandit (thanks Jerry) can help me get some street tuning done. I plan to buy hptuners this week.

Might not be on the 1st start-up. I'll definately get some vids after the street tuning and also some walk arounds.

The 236/236 cam and ball bearing turbos should sound wicked spooling up and settling down.

Looks like you made good progress Josh. It aint an easy install but the kit is durable and maintenance free so once it's there. you can rock and roll. I got a lot more lag out of these -12....I imagine with your gears and a 6speed, yours is gonna suck at first. Tuning on the turbos will affect the spool up and all that alot. As far as driveability, with the injectors you have now, you wont even know the kit is on in day to day driving.

Jerry, I've got a guy who will trade my 4.11 assembly for his 12k mile 3.42 assembly.

That should let me hit full boost sooner. (lower gears too)

With the cam that's in the car I'm hoping the spool time wont be too bad. I ordered the 3/8 NPT tap and the 17mm hex from McMaster Carr and that should be here Tuesday. The only two things missing are the gauges (fuel pressure/boost) and the hptuners....

i still havent found my slip from the Pak-n_Mail or whatever its called. It pisses me off.

Better would be 3.23 gears but 3.42 are ok too. I emailed hptuners but havent gotten a response.

Thanks for lookin' into it.

A real bummer on the about the tools/gauge the mail system lost. If you ever need to borrow a tap or hex you know where to find one...

I might post in the Southern section asking if somebody has 2002 hptuners. I still want to buy a liscense so hopefully they'll (hptuners) will respond to your email. ~Joshua
