Corvette Performance - Home made intake

I was looking at intakes, and got to thinking after looking at the honker and MTI's intake. Anyways, I was thinking I could probably make an CAI pretty easily using an F-body airlid.

Anyone else try this?

Maybe I'm just not used to the corvette tax yet. :eyes:

The cheap mod is to just remove the airbox cover (the part the air filter goes on) and use some zip ties to keep it in place. The stock air box cover is pretty restrictive. Most people say this mod still isn't as good as a real CAI kit though.

I've got a Vararam here, but after reading more stories about hydrolock (it rains here a lot) I am hestitating the install, but then again my insurance would buy me a new engine :D

do the zip tie mod and also you can cut part of the radiator shroud away and make the car into more of a bottom breather rather than a top... I thinking of doing the same now, even though I already have the biggest cai possible... the raptor xxl the thing is f ing huge
