Default 2002 Trailblazer Transmission issues

I posted this in the truck forum but its not getting much action, so I thought I would give it a shot here.

I have owned my Trailblazer 4x4 LTZ 4.2L since August of 2002 when it was new.

At about 75K miles, the transmission went out. It started making all kinds of noise in reverse and when after shifting into 2nd gear. It was rebuilt by a reputable shop and everything has been fine since then until this morning.

I now have just over 100K miles on it and after putting it into reverse this morning I heard those same noises from the transmission once again. I put it in Drive and drove about 200 feet and upon shifting into 2nd it started making the same noises. The noise is similar to a playing car stuck in the spokes of a bicycle.

I looked online and found some used low milage transmissions in my area. My question is whether a transmission from an 05 Trailblazer will work in my 02. Any other suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for the help in advance.

The 05 trans should work as far as i know. It is the 2nd/rev drum that stripped out on you.
