Default Manta Stripe

I put my manta stripe on this saturday, I was surprised at how easy it was. I have no prior experiance with vinyl and I had my mom help me peel the vinyl backing off other wise it was a one person job. I had too many bubbles the first try and I wasnt happy with it so I peeled it off and the second one was just a breeze. I wouldnt hesitate to tell anyone to try putting it on themselves! I have also put on the spoiler stripe but I havent put the deck lid stripe on just yet so the rear pics will have to wait.

Looks damn good. I've said it before and i'll say it again, i'm pretty sure people are going to start thinking the HOSS's came with manta stripes from the factory because almost all of them have them (that's not a bad thing, mines about to get it too ).

Looks good man, waiting for rear pics Does it have a blackout tail panel?

nope no black panel yet, Ive considered it but I just cant bring myself to painting it black, have you painted yours?...I hope to have that other stripe on sometime this week and pics will be posted...thats cool you are getting the stripe soon, I jokingly told a friend I was putting a green one on making a carrot car. I havent actually ever seen another HOSS in person, I know a handful of people online with them, its great to see yet another person with one! Ive seen one other Hugger Z and there is a wrecked 6 banger for sale here, those two along with mine are the only ones Ive seen in person so far.

looks good. where are you from?

the background in one of those pics looks alot like an area around here that another black ss took pics at. and that black FRC vette looks familiar.

buy another berger panel to paint if your worried about it. that way you can switch back if you dont like it.

That's what i did, i have another panel waiting to be painted in my garage, i'm gonna fill in camaro and maybe do an old school SS badge on it. I'm having my car repainted soon with the manta etc. I've only seen a couple other HO cars in person and never another SS. I've seen 3 Z's and a few 6 cyl. I like seeing them on this site, there are quite a few. We need to start a site dedicated to finding them all. I also have a 69 that was originally HO and it will be painted that again soon. Now i just need to find 70 1/2 to have them all

Maybe it's just me, but is that hood slightly a diff color than the rest of the car? I only ask because my orange car has a spoiler that is a diff color and in one of your pics it definitly looks like it. That's part of the reason why i'm getting it painted (so it will match).

Im from Joplin Missouri btw...yeah in person they are slightly diff color but in pics they are a totally diff shade of orange lol, I dont know if its because they were painted at a diff time by SLP or what.

A site dedicated to finding them all would be sweet! Id like to see how many of the 375 we could come up with. My build # is 0657.

Not all will show up, i can think of atleast one that was completly totalled and non-fixable. My spoiler is a noticably different color and i blame the fact that since my car wasn't a "SLP" SS (not sent to SLP) the paint was slightly off on them since they weren't painted at the same time or even in the same area. Also my spoiler and hood aren't cleared. I've heard that to save time SLP sometimes cut corners My build number is 3084.

Nice car man, cant wait to see more pics.

it would be cool to see how many we could locate though I asked a paint shop about my spoiler and hood and he thought maybe it was all a uniform color at one point and over time the fiberglass didnt take the paint in the same way as the rest of the car, beats me it a little more than annoying to have a HOSS and have slightly diff colored spoiler and hood...ive had several people tell me they know I painted my car and thats not a factory color...its great to actually be able to talk to fellow HO owners, I never would have known any one else has these same problems.

Yea not sure how common it is, i didn't even notice it when i bought my car then it caught my eye one day. Hood on mine is pretty damn close (hard to tell a diff) but the spoiler, crap now it looks damn near red to me... I bet you could locate quite a few of them, hell i've seen probably 10 different ones on this site alone and i havn't really been looking that hard.
