Maggie Cam Selection
I am having a Maggie put on a stock 05 GTO w/auto trans and would also like to install a nice daily driver cam that I can occassionally also drive on 6hr road trips. What cam specs should I be looking at and what gains should I expect over the 100-120hp gain from the Maggie? I need to decide if it is worth it and if it is what specs should I look at or maybe a custom blower cam?

DD w/ maggie: Lingenfelter GT2 cam. However, it's only slightly bigger than LS6/LS2 cam, so stick with the stocker. If you want a few more hp, you could always get a smaller pulley and up the boost 1 or 2 lbs.

The stock cam is pretty good for boost. If you just want the nice small chop a cam can give you try the TSP Custom 224/224XE, .566"/.566" lift and get it on a 115LSA. Nice cam for a maggie and easy on the valve springs for long trips. Makes lots of torque and hp. Its almost the exact cam I had with the Maggie.. Here's my before the Maggie and after with the Maggie at 6.5psi of boost and a 224/224 .581 lift on a 115LSA on a hot 102* day..

Keep in mind:
-Single pattern cam will idle better
-Intake duration over 230 should be avoided unless you are doing a converter, but a 230/230 would be a good cam. I'd also consider a 228/228 or 224/224.
-If a cam increases your engine hp say by 30hp, then you rely less on boost to make that power. So a 380rwhp engine + 8 psi will perform like a 350rwhp + 10 psi.
