Default 1.8 / 1.85 rockers on this cam??

okay so I have a Thunder Racing Custom "Reverse Split" Camshaft - 230/224 .575/.563 111 LSA 2200-6800 RPM Power Band. and was wondering if increaseing the rocker ratio would help out. A few of my friends have suggested doing this rather that changing out the cam. but the ad on TR reads as follows:

Excellent mid-range & high RPM power. Automatic cars require computer tuning and it is recommend for optimum results on manual transmission cars . Due to the fast ramp rate of this camshaft, the use of 1.8 rockers is not recommended

Was wondering why this is, is it to cover their own butt or will it cause some damage?

Going to call them when they open and see what they have to say about it, just wanting some other opinions from others that have swaped the rockers out

thanks
dave

It can be done but unless "correct" geometry is 100%, you'll experience problems due to fast ramp rate of the lobe.
If more power is what you seek, a simple thinner gasket and light mill will give you way more power.
It is also more economical but a bit more labor intense.
