Default idle ?

ok, so I just installed Pacesetter LT's, TSP ORY, O2 extensions, LS7 clutch kit & LS2 flywheel, Port/Polished 02' TB.

My question is, why would my RPM's climb & stick @ 2200 RPM anytime I touch the gas?? I thought at first that maybe the previous owner of the TB had the screw adjusted for a cam car, so I tried to adjust it & nothing. This happens when I'm goin to stop & push in the clutch or if I'm sittin in neutral & tap the gas. It will hang there for a minute & then slowly idle back down to 900 RPM, which is where it used to idle. I had read on here that if you switch to a 00' or above TB, i think, that you have to change the center post connected to the throttle cable for it to work. I did NOT do this b/c it fit & operated just fine before actually starting the car to test it. Could this be my whole problem??

I'm thinking its all the TB, but wanted to ask on here. I'm thinking if I put my stocker back on it might fix the problem. What do you think??

is the hole in the TB blade the stock size? i had the same problem with my car when i got my used FAST TB. even when i backed the idle set screw all the way back it was still letting way more air in through the hole. i replaced the TB blade, set the screw where i needed it and was fine

Search for idle relearn and try that. Your IAC motor is what's causing your car to do this.

Thankx guys. I think for now I will just swap TB back over & deal with the other crap later. I'm glad its only a simple TB issue.

The 02 has a different cam on the TB as i recently learned. Switch out the internals from your 99 into the 02 TB. Computer reads them slightly differently, once i swapped mine from the 98 version to my 02 version it works great. That is the most annoying thing in the world.
