Default LS6 or FAST 90 for H/C 5.3

I'll be ditching the truck intake manifold for some type of car based intake on my H/C 5.3. I've narrowed it down to either the LS6 (maybe a ported one by New Era) or a FAST 90 with LS2 TB. The heads flow a little better than stock 243s and the cam will be 218/218, .605/.564, 110. 3000 rpm stall converter with 4.10 gears.

Which intake would suit my combo better? Loss of low end is a concern to me as it is a fullsize truck and sees 95% street duty.

Thanks

Ported LSX 90mm. Tony M and EDC both port 90mm LSX's and show great gains across the range.

FAST claims that there is not a lot of low end lost. I would go that route if mons\ey is not the issue.

On H/C there won't be a lot of loss, if there is even any. With a ported 90mm, you will probably gain low end.

So you don't think there will be any losses down low? A couple of people have told me that the 90mm would be overkill. Even though this is a H/C it's a lot milder setup than an f-body on a smaller displacement engine and needs to move 1000 more pounds.

How much hp and torque could this be worth?

I know the following:

LSX90mm has shown losses down low on cam-only setups.

I haven't seen any H/C cars that have shown losses down low from LSX90.

Ported Fast90's have shown greater gains, especially under the curve for H/C cars.

All of the above applies to 5.7L. You have 5.3 (which I just notced. Oops!), so that's a wild card. I don't know how that will change the outcome.

Maybe you should find someone who ports these intakes and get their advice.

Yeah, less cubes, more weight. I'm going to give Tony M a shout. I know one thing for certain, the truck intake is a POS.

Yep, Regular Cab Short Bed.

Looks like FAST 90 is the winner. Gonna have to save alot more for this project now.
