Default P0332 after header install

I just finished installing my Pacesetter headers and TSP Y pipe. Problem is, the car is now throwing a knock sensor code (P0332 Knock Sensor 2 Circuit Low Input). This seems to be a result of the Y pipe banging the floorboard. My question is, since the banging is only very rare, will the code constantly pull timing until it is cleared or does it only pull timing when the "knock" is occuring? I am going to try and get the banging to stop, but really it isnt that bad. I just dont want to drive around with timing being pulled constantly.

I'm pretty sure only when "knock" is occuring. Maybe someone will chime in to verify that.

why would engine knock occur as a result of your y pipe hitting the floorboard?

The "noise" of the Y pipe banging can cause the knock sensors to trip. The knock sensors are nothing more than microphones basically. If they hear a loud banging noise, they can confuse that with knock.

The knock sensors pulling timing and throwing a code are different animals. If it was your y-pipe banging, you might have timing pulled but no code. The code means your KS is bad.
