I also feel there are many better ways to handle some thing just about every singal driver has tried at one time then the way some states do.
Yes it is illegal and should not happen. I think more people were killed by cars running red lights last year then people killed in street racing but no one is jumping up and down to throw everyone of those people in jail

The real problem is the idiots that go out there. Most of the people are smart and are cautious but then you have some 16 yo in his Honda being stupid and causes problems. I used to go every now and then but then I got arrested. I was about to leave when everyone started egging me on to race some mid to late 90's turboed Eclipse. So I went ahead and raced him but as I was going from 2-3 I threw it in neutral, hit the brakes and turned around to leave. Then there came the cops. A bike cop had been watching for 45 min and got the plate #'s. Not a good night out...

I think the real problem is all the young kids in high school and recent grads. I am only 22 but when I go out I play it as safe as I can. I never forget the night me and my buddy were out driving around. it was 3 am, he drives a 04 gt mustang and I have 00 Z28. The last race him and I went at it and there just happen to be 2 cops behind us the whole time. the cops were cool and said dont do it again. I dont see a problem with it if u are being as safe.

Don't you love how the media manipulates things to there own prespective!
I don't condone street racing, yet I have ran against a person or two on the freeway. We've all done that once here or there..........however, I think there are many many more dangers on the roads rather than street racers.
