Street Racing & Kill Stories - AMS Evo Killed

So I was at a local haunt for cars and a heads/cam white WS6 is lookin for some fun. I tell him to run an Evo that had just pulled in. White T/A Heads/Cam untuned. From a roll pulled the Evo ugly, from a dig on street tires sliding all over the roll reeled the Evo in. My buddy got a video so as soon as he posts it I'll link but it was pretty fun.

Evo owner, said "Ive got a upto stage 3 AMS, getting a bigger turbo next week." I dunno if he was lying but from what I could see, electronic boost controller, AMS FMIC, Exhaust and some rims. It was a nice car and quick but damn it got killed.

Nice lol why is it someone in a ricer of some sort after getting beat always says there getting a bigger turbo or something in a week or my tune was off. It like run what ya brunge man. We have some nice evo's around here tho running in low 12s. There ok but i dont see the point of buying a rally car to drag race with. Its like buying a corvette for a grocery getter. :)

Well, most (including me) love the awd advantage that the Evo gives you so why not drag it. Personally I didnt buy my Evo to go around a road course. Im hoping he had more mods then that, those are the most basic things, also I dont see why people upgrade thir FMIC when their on the stock turbo. I still had the stock FMIC with full bolt ons + cams etc on my Evo.

Yeah...the title is misleading. You should have said an "AMS stg x car" got killed. Most people clicking the thread thought it was their low 9-sec car that got killed...LOL. :jest:

I would NOT mind seeing ANY 9 second car get killed... Those are the kind of races I wish I could see more of.

The black EVO that was killed by the Camaro was not AMS's shop car. it was another AMS modded EVO. It had 600whp at the time which is mid to high 130's in the 1/4.

AMS's shop car (which is silver btw) runs like 9.0-9.1 @ 160mph+ . Big difference.

I also wouldn't mind seeing a 9.0 sec flat car get killed on the street by another street car. :jest:

I dunno, if it's not Im sure some other shop could take them. No matter how fast you are there's always someone faster. From what I understand world's fastest street car title has belonged to an RX-7 in Japan and is still there.

Also these days street car is a very very subjective term. There's a company building 1000hp 331 engines for mustangs that run on 93 Octane to run 7 days a week. You can call it a street car but I sure as hell wouldnt.

Fastest street car is a RX-7 in Japan? What defines a street car and what RX-7 is this? I know this one shop claims they have the fastest Street accelerating car in the world, (Its a 3-rotor FD) but I have seen it and not sure if its true or not.

I saw it on some brit show via satalite while at a buddies' house. Apparently it was a low 8 second car from some world renown shop. I dont recall the details but it was pretty badass. I love the FD cars.

I think I know the one you are talking about. I think the tuner shop is "Stillway". I don't remember any times though.

1000hp cars are not a dime a dozen, epecially ones that run on pump gas.

Honestly nothing above 500hp is very streetable. You can but its definately dangerous and I dun think I like the idea of parents buying their kids some of these cars.

Are you referring to Bennett Racing? If so, all I see is about 700hp on pump and they don't say if that's WHP or not.

And a Stage 3 AMS car is quick, but it's not heavily modded. It's pretty much a turbo back exhaust, intake, cams, boost controller, and some fuel. Edit: And a front mount.

Whatever the case, it's still a good kill.

I think he means that it is a stock turbo, stock displacement, no nitrious EVO.

That would be like an EVO saying they destroyed a Cartek car that had their a full exhaust and a lid.

There are 700+ rwhp LS1's as streetable as stock. :D That is to say, they can sit in traffic, running AC, run pump gas, FULL interiors, nice sound systems, etc.

I live right by AMS, the people that have the worlds fastest Evo. That Evo is fuckin crazy. The AMS Evo ran a fuckin 9.13 in the 1/4.

Yeah AMS isnt too far from here which is why there are so many 17yr olds running around with their staged kits.
