Question Anyone seen this type airbox before?

New to the forum have had fbodys all my life off and on. Got my latest a 98 Formula with aftermarket ramair hood and airbox. The box is so close to the throttle body the bellows is almost completly pinched off. I thought I could solve this with a smooth bellows but to close for that. Anyone have any suggestions or help? Car runs very strong can't wait to get some air to it.

have it off now, just not sure what to replace it with. Not sure if I'll have to replace the whole deal with something like a K&N Kit. the way the hood fits I wonder about clearance.

It looks like the Suncoast ram air box that you can buy to go with there ram air hood. Is that an after market hood, maybe Suncoast?

Certianly think it's aftermarket looked all over it and the airbox for a name but no luck. I'll checkout their website. Saw one similar to mine for sale on here sounds like it might be for an LT1. I'd go back to a stock ram airbox if someone has one reasonable.

If it's fiberglass, then it's an aftermarket hood, I'm pretty sure the factory hoods were steel.

Ok it's fiberglasss. i went to the suncoast website your right that looks like it. no pictures of the underside of the hood but the airbox is the same. When I connect the MAF to the airbox I only have about an inch between throttle body and MAF. need very short tube.

Only base model hoods were steel. WS6/SS/Firehawk etc. all had fiberglass hoods.

the WS6/SS/Hawk hoods are a SMC (sheet molded composite) That looks like the LT1 WS6 airbox, or the one from Suncoast Creations as others have said above.

Where's the filter? Looks like it would perform really good like a BG ramair kit.

I agree with rich Z. Have you had any issues with it though?

the lt1 ws6 style ram air hood is the most effective ram air versions for the 4th gen fbody but you also can no longer use the SSRA with an airbox like that unless you did a little custom fabbing to it
