n00b y pipe question will any y pipe fit any after market LT's? say for example would a hooker y pipe fit with pacesetter LT's? im not sure if different headers are different lengths or anything, or if maybe the y pipes are. TIA

Not every y-pipe works with every header. There are several different versions of header designs on the market. There are also different ways the headers connect to the y-pipe. Slip-on fit, bolt on collector flange and ball and socket are several varieties.

Better off buying the headers and the y-pipe from the same sponsor. Kooks-QTP-Jet Hot are just a few popular setups. You can get the headers ceramic coated as well to lower underhood temps.

Unless you have some reason for buying a different y pipe i would stick with the lt and y from the same sponser. Saves hassle and you know that they are compatible. But then again thats just my 2 cents.

well im pretty poor right now any i really need to get my car tuned, its run rich as hell since i put the exhaust on it to get rid of the rattling cat. and i would hate to get it tuned and then get headers.

If your running super rich I would check your o2 sensors. I was running uber rich, fact I was making about 5 mpg. But after I chanhged my o2 sensor I was doing really good. Getting around 20 mpg at the moment in town and probably 30 - 32 on the highway. I no longer smell exhaust so thick that it makes me want to pass out.
