Looking at the ET DB. The fastest car listed is a cobalt from MAC4264 with a 8.18@168. Did a semi rearend the thing at 100 miles an hour at the starting line or was it launched off an aircraft carriers steam catapult?

Am I missing something here? gotta be a joke, right?

I saw that too. I dont know the car, but it has a 356 CI V8 in it and a 4 link so I am assuming that the term cobalt is about as loose as it gets when describing the car. Although it would be cool if GM sold it with rear drive, 4 link, and a V8.

Sounds just like what ford did a couple of years ago with a focus. Take the name badge off of a front wheel drive 4 cylinder pos and slap it on a tube chassis rear wheel drive full race v8. And did I mention spending 200k$ over the sticker price? It's just like pro stock drag racing or nascar, where the name on the car no longer has any correlation to the marketed product.

It's a real car and its neater than shit. A factory 06 cobalt body with a pro-stock chassis built into it. He runs in one of the Super Mod classes in NHRA competition eliminator with it.

The motor that is in the car now is a former prostock truck engine. We are in the stages of building a 311 ci C-5r motor to run in the car. It should weigh about 3265 and it will run high 8 's. If it makes you guys fell better the engine that is in the car has LS1 firing order. :)

K&N's orange Cobalt still uses the Ecotec plant and it's run 9.3x. Still has the original window sticker in the rear window too. :D

yeah no doubt the Ecotech would whoop the V8's ass (god forgive me for sounding like a ricer) I worked in Vegas with a shop that did the Ecotecs for Nelson hoyos and marty Ladwig's car 2 years ago...nothing like a 1400 hp 1.9 liter stock block stock head motor
