Default Next trip to LG Motorsports (vacation LOL)

Please read my sig before you post opinions, thanks in advance. Unfortunately I have to say that I am going to cancel my plans for a forged/blown 408 at this time. BOOOOO $$ !! With that being said, the only way to get more power and performance out of my car without super/turbo charging, or spraying is to upgrade to the 90/90 combo (Tony Mamo Ported) and switch to the G5X4 cam.

I will be going in the fall of 2007 or spring of 2008. I'll be talking with Bobby about doing another pkg deal. While at LG I plan on getting the trans/diff pump with lines and coolers, the G2 Coil over shocks in addition to the above mentioned cam, tb, and intake. That should address my hp/tq increase desires and add handling performance, along with rear diff and trans protection. Hoping for 500 rwhp and 450+ rwtq.

I have already talked to Tony Mamo about his ported 90/90. He said that with my setup I won't see what most people see from his ported upgrade. Should see about 12 rwhp. That would take me to 485. Now with the bigger cam, will I see the last 15 rwhp I am looking for, or am I going to fall short and be at 495, 496, or the infamous 499?? The 921's will also get swapped out at time of the cam change to new 921's or something better. Will have rev limiter set at 7100 rpms for 7000 rpm shifts when racing, and the all important 60 mph 1st gear blast for under 4 second times, I hope.

Sorry for the wordiness on this post, but I hope I can get some good advice/opinions. Undecided on whether or not I want to get the GM T-1 anti sway bar upgrade. Any thoughts on any or all of this post please chime in. Please post guesses on my final #'s, because this is the absolute last stuff I am doing to this car other then oil changes etc, etc. Thanks in advance.

Since you already have the good mods to support it, I feel you are a cam and intake away from 500 rwhp. One thing you might have Lou and Louis look at, is grinding you a G5X4 with LSK lobes (at least on the intake). With the robust flow of the AFR 205s, you will have the foundation to take full advantage of these faster ramped lobes. Besides the lift advantage, the LSK lobes will give you about 4 degrees more duration at .200" than a comparable XE-R lobe. That's a nice increase in curtain area. Just pay close attention to your dynamic compression (get it above 8.5:1) and try not to have your intake valve closing point much past 46 degrees ABDC at .050".

You'll hit 500rwhp for sure. Your car is already sick, with those new mods it will be over the top.

Thanks P.G. you always have really good advice about things. I spoke to Bobby this morning, and we should be right at 500 rwhp. Might not make the 450+ rwtq that I would like, but definatly 440 and maybe a couple more. Will be staying with the 921's, no need to go to the 977's. Good advice on the LSK lobe suggestion. Should help my low/mid range #'s a bit. Thanks again Pat.

I don't know if the G5X4 (worth about 10HP over the G5X3) is going to give you enough with the Mamo ported FAST to get you a solid 500. You have everything set up for a run at 500 (light cluch, EWP, U/D Pulley, high compression, good heads, and a stout cam as it is). Usually, the G5X3/AFR 205 combo with a FAST 90 is good for 480-485rwhp. But, like I said, I'm not sure you're going to get another 15rwhp consistenly from the G5X4.

Now, the small bore AFR 225s are worth a solid 10rwhp over the AFR 205s at the same compression. With the 225s and the G5X4 and Mamo-ported FAST, you'd probably see 505rwhp numbers.

Just to clarify any misunderstandings about why I would only see 12 rwhp from the Mamo 90/90 combo, is due to me already running a FAST 78 with ported TB. For those with stock LS1 intakes you will be reaping the biggest benefits. The LS6 intake guys will also see a big improvement 20 + RWHP !
LS1 guys could see 24 rwhp. Any other questions I am sure Tony would love to answer himself.

Hey bro, why not just throw on a s/c with 8lbs and a safe tune. You'd see a nice gain of 80rwhp+ for the amount of money your looking at spending at LG. 550 rwhp or 490-500rwhp. I'd want more for the money. Make that car even meaner!!!

IMO, you have a proven killer setup now, why go to unknown territory (driveability effects) just to get a peak number on the dyno? Save the money for suspension upgrades.

I personally wouldn't change the cam, but I'd do the intake/TB/suspension mods for sure. If you're willing to spend ~$1000 more just to get MAYBE 10rwhp more at the expensive of driveability, then go for it, but I don't think I would.

Good luck, can't wait to see the results.

I agree with troubledwine Doug. I don't think the motor mods are going to yield noticeable improvements, or at least not enough for the money. I'd put that money towards more cubes. Your driveability probably won't get any better either. Good Luck with whatever you decide!

Honestly, I'd just do the cam swap and then work on dyno tricks and save some money. Not trying to be an ******* or anything, but it sounds like you just want that dyno number, not a track ET/MPH. With that in mind, do a couple tricks and then go to Hobby Lobby to buy a frame for the graph .

In other words, remove your belt and become a true dyno ***** and you'll hit 500rwhp free....
