Just to give a little praise to Air Flow Research and Tony Mamo on those AFR 205 heads, I thought I would post this up for the forum. I remember driving to LG Motorsports for work to begin on 3/27/06 for Heads, brakes, clutch, rear end and a bunch of other stuff, ud pully, and meziere ewp as well. I can't see the EWP and UD pully being worth anymore then 20 rwhp, probably less. I arrived with 403 rwhp 380 rwtq cam only and boltons. I left with the addition of the AFRs, ewp, and ud pully making 473 rwhp and 431 rwtq. So if you do the math thats 70 rwhp and 51 rwtq increase. The heads were worth an easy 50 rwhp on my setup maybe a few more. Thanks again to AFR for making such a premium quality product. I have friends with Corvettes running similar setups, but different heads, and I am 12 to 20 rwhp and 10+ rwtq ahead of them. So it says a lot about AFR's products in my opinion. Thanks Tony Mamo, and I can't wait until I can afford your ported 90/90 combo to finish my N/A MONSTER. Thanks a lot.

Yes, there are plenty of "average Joes" putting out above average numbers with the AFR heads. In this day and age when you see so many products with results all over the board, it's nice to see a product that consistently lays down solid numbers. As a matter of fact, I've never seen an unhappy AFR owner on this board. Thanks for sharing. Good luck in your quest for 500 rwhp.
Sounds like a healthy combo.
Did you redyno the car on the original dyno machine to do a more fair comparison with similar air temps?
This was with an unported FAST 90 intake and thru the exhaust?

You can't be right on the MPG in your sig. It just no way possible you might be gettin high twenties, but there is no f bod on this planet that get 34.5 mpg fyi.

They're much more aerodynamic than F-bodies. Getting over 30mpgs is no problem with the right setup. And for what it's worth, he's running a non-ported 78mm FAST, not the 90mm.

Oh my god here we go again. Let me say this again 608 miles out of 17.62 gallons used on my ride back to Michigan from LG Motorsports in Wiley, TX
I filled up and made it home 1200 miles on 2 tanks.
Now here's the requirements: 6th gear, 78-82 mph, cruise control set.
It's not my fault if you don't beleive me, but that's what I get when I let the computer control the throttle. When I get on it I am still averaging 19.8 mpg
under mixed driving (Not babying it either) City only driving (hard) I am lucky to get 9 mpg. Hope this helps you out.
Your F-Body would see 3-5 mpg better gas mileage if you run the Meziere EWP, and an U/D Pully. Go look into it. Good luck.........Use the cruise.

Would an ewp help if I already have an u/d pulley do you think??? I wouldn't mind helping out my gas mileage?? I know I need a better tune for starters because I just have a custom predator tune which only tunes WOT. I must be running real rich at idle and cruise since I only get about 24 MPG highway with the cruise set at 80 mph. Thoughts?

I believe an EWP would definately help. Instead of the belt robbing hp/tq to spin the water pump, you only draw a little juice from the electrical sytem. By lessening the engine load, you lessen the amount of fuel required. Since you already have a U/D pully you will only see 1-2 more mpg. I think the ud pully was 2-3 mpg improvement. Combo'd they should yield 3-5. Both mine were done at the same time, maybe that's why the improvement was so obvious. As far as the tune goes, you should definately look into it. If you could improve 6 mpg with premium running over $3 / gallon it might be worth the 400-450 for a good custom tune. FYI Most of my miles on the car highway. I usually drive it to work on the weekends, or take it when I go out of town. Good luck, please PM or email me and let me know your results if and when you get the Meziere EWP and a good tune.
