Stereo & Electronics - i need some help replacing door speakers

i need to replace the speakers in my doors on my 99 camaro.i was wondering what brand of speakers are the best

I've got these in my front doors and also my sail panels and i love em, http://shopper.cnet.com/Kenwood_KFC_1789ie_car_speaker/4014-6725_9-30772487.html. I've had em for about 7 mos now and got no complaints whatsoever. Welcome to the board also.

this is a highly argued area - for the most part, the "best" speakers are wut u think are the best. the best idea wuld be for u to sample products at a local audio store - either best buy, circuit city, etc., or, if ur lookn for more high end speakers, go to an audio dealer around ur place, as they generally carry that kind of equipment (just more expensive tho)

some people like that high-pitch, sharp, crisp noise comin from the tweeters, some like a softer tone. some people want components and suggest components as the best since u can place the tweeters anywhere for best staging, while others suggest a 3-way component to get the absolute best sound stage. wut are u lookin to do? u want somethin to just simply replace the stockers (i.e. a budget setup?) or are u lookn for somethin real high end. im guessin since ur just replacing the door speakers that u just want a good replacement that's affordable/inexpensive, in which case the alpine 170a's are a common choice (i believe thats the alpine series...dont quote me on that).

remember that if u keep the stock amp, u'll be pushing at 2ohm resistance, so its best to match ur replacement speakers to that resistance - or - get an aftermarket 4ohm amp.

Yeah, best is a subjective term. If you are looking for a decent quality replacement that goes in no fuss no muss, give the Infinity Kappas a look. The 62.7i coaxs have seperate woofer and tweeter connections, and are two ohm. They can also be had on the net, without breaking the bank. Just my .02

anything is an improvement over stock Sony / Pioneer or Move on up to Kappas or Bostons all are better then stock

well then a set of kicks with some high quality components would be your best bet powered by an aftermarket amp. Im going to running alipine type r 6.5 components in the door with the tweeter mounted in the pillar. Ill be using a mrp f450 to run the front and a type s 10 in a stealth box in the rear. Should sound good and get a lot louder than stock. It'll cost me about 400 for everything off ebay. (not running kicks as I have a m6)
