Default does your alternator slip?

While out tuning, i noticed my voltage plummits when i hammer the car. I am thinking the alternator must be slipping. What would help if thats the case?
With the increased revs, i wouldnt expect it to fall like that unless its slipping

My truck does it Everything dims initially (lights and such), volt meter drops to 9 or 10 volts, and then it climbs back up to normal. Only on a flat stab to WOT though. And usually when it has to make a down shift.

I'm figuring it's the rapid accel from the downshift, and the crusty 75k mile belt that still in there.

Try a new belt maybe?

I run a NAPA belt....no problems.

How's the tuning coming? Was the rpm vs pe off a lot?

your right...its the sudden stab while cruising. Makes it harder to tune with the voltage affecting the fuel pumps

I have had a couple cars do that with a bad alternator also, they would just shut off at WOT and could never figure out why. Put a rebuilt alternator on and it was fine, same belt and pulley, not sure what crapped out in them.
