Default Anyone running hooker 1 7/8" headers? Plug wire issues

Just put a set of 1 7/8" headers on a car and on #3 and #5 the wires are right against the header. I don't mean just touching the header is in direct line with the plug. Anyone else have this issue? I noticed these headers have a more diagnal sweep back compared to my kooks which are down and back if that makes sense.

Anyone???? Got the car fired up and it burnt through the wire in about 10 minutes even with a ceramic heat boot on it.

Only thing that may help is a set of LS2 plug wires. The 90* bends might do you some good. I have had a few wires just "touching" in the past, and right now, and it hasn't done them any harm. Maby a little header wrap in that section? It's also possible to yank the metal heat sheilds off your stock wires and put them on your new ones.

If you ARE using the stock wires, try moving the heat shields up and using them as a buffer between the header and the boot.
