Question BFG DR question... g-Force T/A DR 2??

Which DR from BFG do I want to get? Which one is better?

Tire Rack says there are 2 different styles of BFG DRs... Im wondering which one are you guys using and why?

Looking to buy a set next week. Thanks.

*FWIW heres the link I was looking at*

These are the kind i get, 295/35/18 They hook FANTASTIC too, but they dont last as long as you would want them too. They are rated for around 5-6k miles before they need to be replaced. I went 10.5k on mine and haha well i suggest NO ONE TRY THAT!

Here is what they looked like on my car

mightymouse, that is one cool *** design.

I ran the ones in the link before (one set). They hooked like mad but lasted me almost 5,000 tops of which there were only maybe a half dozen track passes and the rest was street

Ya they dont last very long but they get the job done! I took mine all the way to 10.5k miles and well, they looked worse than a slick! Good thing we dont have anything called Weather here in AZ or i would have been screwed!

From what I've gathered on this topic, there are two different tread designs for the bfg drag radial. The design on mightymouse's car (best looking IMO) is only availabe for narrow 17" rims (like 225's) and most 18" rims. The wider 17" sizes that most fbody guys use (like 275's and 315's) use the other design pictured in the link in the first post. I don't know if the two different tread designs feature different compounds or sidewall stiffness, so if anyone knows that info post up! So basically to get the "cool looking" tread pattern you have to be running 18" wheels.

The tires on my car were 295/35/18 on a 18x10.5 wheel

No wonder these BFGs dont last long... I just had them mounted on my wheels and they barely have any tread depth on them when brand new. No surprise the Nittos last a lot longer, Nitto DRs have a ton more tread on them.

Here in Las Vegas, we also don't have much bad weather. Check out my car with DRs. http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a197/choicecam00/ Later, Kevin.
