HI im new here and I just got a wrecked (rearened) 77 Impala from a guy who worked at the arizona proving grounds for GM. The car has a 400 .030 over (406). He said it has a race cam the second best heads (best being the camelhumps?), Forged pistons and rods balanced blueprinted crank. 2.02 vavles, hooker headers, something with the rockers dont member. 850 cfm carb and had a B&M blower but its gone. With the blower it made about 575 hp and 675 tq. It has a factory racing GM 3 speed auto ( He said it the best rarest tranny they had at the Grounds) stock posi 1500 converter. It ran a 11.6 with street tires and with the a/c on. I got the car for free it has rearend damage but driveable. So I would like to get a new car for the drivetrain any one recomend a car for it?

That driveline is junk and wont fit in anything, so you should send it my way. j/k.

It depoends on what you are looking for for a finished product. You could put it in another BIG car and have a sleeper. Or put it in a mid-size car and have a beast.

Anything from a Caprice to a Monte Carlo or Camaro. Or put it in an S-10 or a foriegn car like a 300, or supra or RX-7. Like stated earlier, it all depends on what YOU want.

Whatever you build around it, have fun, and remember- DON'T GET CAUGHT! :drive:

Free! Congrats!!!

I would invest some $$$ and get the blower again and have a low cost 11.6 car. :)

BTW - Welcome
