Question trouble shooting

I think I have a busted valve spring but I'm having trouble locating it. Any tricks that might help me out? I have the valve cover off but so fa I don't see anything wrong. And i had a definate mettallic ping coming out of there when I started.

When I broke my valvespring it was very hard to locate also. Take a good second look and run your hands around every spring. If they are doubles, the inner spring may have broke, which is even harder to spot.

Old trick, but it works. Get a piece of 3/8" gas line about 2 1/2 ' long. Plug one end in your ear and use the other end to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. (it's a cheap but effective stethoscope)
