Default Anyone interested in helping Pontiac market research?

Pontiac is conducting research among the online Pontiac “enthusiast”
community and have invited LS1Tech members to participate. The goal of
the research is to better understand our interests and feelings about
Pontiac, why we participate in online message forums like LS1Tech, and how/if Pontiac can get involvement in online communities.

Pontiac has hired an outside firm (TideWatch) to do the research, and they are conducting a series of online focus groups (each lasting roughly 1.5 hours) in the next few weeks. The research will be online so no travel is required – you can share your thoughts from the comfort of your own home or office! If you are interested in participating in this research, you can click on the link below – it will take you to a series of questions you’ll need to answer in order to see if you qualify. You should have access to a high-speed Internet
connection and be a current member of at least one online forum like this
one in order to participate, and you cannot be an employee of an automotive
manufacturer or dealer.

LS1Tech has no involvement in this market research, we are simply passing the information along to you folks. If you wish to participate, its up to you. Lets just hope they take whatever information learned and use it to make the brand better!

I got the very same email from Scott Settlemire today. I've completed the registration process (which is extremely easy by the way), so hopefully I'll be chosen.

But who would "need help using the internet"?
I'm a big boy, I can use the internet all by myself.

I thought that was a little funny too. They say right off you need high-speed internet, then ask if you have dial-up or high speed later in the questionnaire. If you're dumb enough to get that far into the questionnaire (and have dial-up), then you're more than likely not gonna be picked

Brains - I know you were in the same group as I was. Was anyone else from here part of the focus group? Any thoughts?

Yeah, it's closed, but those of you who got in, please post up about it as you participate. I'm sure that there are many like me who would be curious about what goes on.

Quite a bit of discussion about how we view Pontiac - how we feel about our vehicles - what we'd like to see from Pontiac both in the area of marketing (new and/or improved vehicles) and in support of online communities. They showed a sample of a possible web site that Pontiac might sponser for enthusiasts. Nearly everyone agreed that any new site would only be successful if someone from Pontiac actually participated - pass on information, news, etc. Most of us weren't sure they could offer much more in the way of additional tech support since the online forums have this handled very well. I have a jpg of the web site they were showing but it's on my machine at work - will try to get it uploaded later. Nearly everyone ended by saying we'd like to see a return of the Firebird.
