Default Window Motor repair in detail

I have had window problems for probably two years. takes forever to go up and down. ive let it go long enough.. its time for new motors on both sides. jsut to make sure..it def is the motor right? and sec..does anyone know of a site that gives step by step instructions on replacing the motors. class starts up again soon and i gotta save money for books so getting it done professionally is not an option..

I used that first link and it was a huge help. One thing to note is that you must drill the holes large enough in the place where the rivets were so as to be able to fit the new hardware that will hold the new motor. Also the hardware that comes with the new motors and was kind of short I thought. I used slightly longer bolts and it went easier. It really helps when you have sausages for fingers.
One last thing is the motor gear just butts right up to the gear for the mechanism.
Good luck and have fun with the door panel removal/install by the speaker. PITA

Did you test the switch?
Testing the switch will tell you if the switch went bad or if the problem is further down the line.

Get longer bolts. The ones supplied with the motor are a PITA to work with because they are too short.

If you don't have a way to easily test the switch, just switch it with one of the others and see if it works. If it does, then you know your switch is bad.
