Default Anyone else go to Denton Dragway last night?

I was just curious if anyone else on the boards went to Denton last night. I was there in just a plain old ls1 formula. The track was EXTREMELY slick.
I saw some pretty nice cars and just wondered if any of them had any input on the track.

I heard that the track has been sold and the new owners don't know **** about track prep? is that true? maybe the slickness is going to be SOP from now on. That sucks though I used to run out at Denton everytime I was back from College Station.

I went out a couple of weeks ago and had the same problem. Couldn't cut anything better than a 2.25 60'. There was even a guy running 315 Nitto DRs cutting no better than 2.1s. Track prep definately left a lot to be desired, makes me want to make the 2 hour trek back out to ennis in the future

Why do people still go out to Denton? That track is by far the worst track around, as far as traction goes. Go to Redline or Kennedale.

This was the first time I'd been out there, and the only appeal that I can see is location (only 25 mins from my house) and the fact that it never seems too busy

It appeared to me that just a bunch of high school kids were prepping the track with no supervision. The only reason I still go is because it is reasonably close for me. Here are some results for the skeptics. My car is nothing more than a bolt on car and on one certain pass, I got off the line and about 20 feet out I took both lanes trying to keep it off the walls. My best 60' was 2.16 last night on an 8.50 pass. That sucks pretty bad. Anyways, everyone out there seemed to have traction issues. Again, its basically my only option Kennedale and Redline are too far of a drive.
